What you been up to?

Not a whole lot on this end is going on except trying to cope with having a teenager in the house for the summer! Text, text, text is about all I get out of her! I swear if she didn't have that damned phone attached to her hand at all hours of the day and night she would die of miscommunication! She even takes the damn thing into the shower with her! UGggggggH!

The inventor of text messages should have to deal with a teenager when she is wrapped up in her phone more than she is interacting with a real human being that is right next to her. Almost humiliating how little she actually does pay attention to what I say!!!! I am already about ready to throw that damn thing away and she has only been here two weeks!

Are all teens like this?

Plus she is in this kick right now about not talking showers except when she is told to. I remember when I was 13, I couldn't wait to take a shower everyday and brush my teeth and look my absolute best even if the only people that saw me were my dogs and my mom. Have things changed so much since then?

Plus, she cannot stand to spend any time with her little brothers and sister, but she will go over to the other house and spend hours watching tv and playing with my little neice that is one of the biggest brats that I have ever met! Go figure.

Well now that I have gotten that rant out of my system......I feel the same.

Catcha later!

Should (D) President Hopeful John Edwards get more votes?

Should (D)Presidential hopeful John Edwards getting even more media attention because of the fact that his wife has Breast Cancer?

Why should he? It is not even him that is sick with a potentially fatal disease and he is getting all of the attention! Yes, I know that his dear loving wife has said that she wants him to continue on with his campaign and all that good mubo jumbo, what else is she supposed to say?!

I for one think that it is preposterous that people are now flocking to this man just for the fact that his wife is sick! What about all of the other candidates that are sick, or have been sick? What about them? I don't see the Today Show doing a front running piece on the fact that Senator McCain has prostate cancer and survived!

There are a number of front runners in the upcoming election that are worthy candidates and I don't believe that the public should be flocking to one opponent over another over medical issues that they may or may not have. I believe that we should vote for the most worthy candidate. Platform views and all that stuff.

My personal opinion is that I am still behind Barack Obama for this Presidential Race! I really hope that he wins. I would be proud to elect him as the First Black President of the United States. I believe in what he stands for and he has a real knack for keeping his foot out of his mouth. That says a lot for a campaign runner now a days.

Think on that.

Re: Google is Taking Over!

narendra shenoy said...
I do agree with you. Google's omnipresence is scary, to say the least. I'm smelling another microsoft in the making. Thus far, atleast, Google has been a pretty cool company, not overtly money grubbing like Microsoft is, but theres nothing like a few easy dollars to make people arrogant and insensitive. Wish Google had some decent competition

This is my reply to Narendra: Please read on

Thank you Narendra, I couldn't have summed it up better myself! That is what I fear is happening too.

After I saw them buying up ad space all over the internet, and then for some reason, buying Youtube.com for a couple of Billion dollars, they are now everywhere! You can't click on a single page on the internet it seems without seeing their logo staring back at you.

At least if they are going to monopolize the market get some new logos and division out your company a little. Yes, I do have to admit that as most people that work there have said it is one of the best places to work.

They can afford to pay for all the private chefs in the staff cafeteria and the fancy lunch rooms. The corner offices with huge windows, and all the bean bags, or massages chairs that their employees want because they are raking in the dough hand over fist...and they want to keep the people that have made that all possible, their employees, happy.

It just would be nice if someone would stand up and say that they were better, faster, smarter, than Google and prove it. hmmm...we will see I guess.

Thanks for the comment!

I wanted to share this comment with all of you to see what you all think of Google? Do you like AdSense? Do you think that Google should have some competition out there or should the Nation, and we as internet users, stand up for the little guys and make some room for other companies to stand out among the giants?

I for one really don't want to see any more monopolies on our marketplaces than are already in place, even if it is on the internet. We all use the internet! The only people that I know that don't log on everyday are my G&G's who are early 70's and could really care less for computers, and my in-laws and that is because their computer doesn't work and I am too busy on my own to let them use mine. Selfish, I know, but true.

So what are we to do? Should Google as the so called 'Good Guys' take over the marketplace, or should they not? I don't really know the right answer, I just don't seem to think that it is really fair.

Fairness seems to be an issue with me lately...

Ponder about it.

GOOGLE is starting to INVADE the earth

Is it just me or has anybody else noticed that 'Google' is starting to invade the internet everywhere I go?!? I have nothing against Google, in fact I use Google quite often to be honest.

What I DO have a problem with is monopolization of the marketplace! Isn't there any room out there for another powerhouse company? Is there no other company out there that is willing to take on Google and all of it's entities and try to get some business out there?!?

For instance, here on blogger they have now implemented the new Picassa Web Albums for us fellow bloggers that add photos to our blogs. Can you just guess who hosts these albums ~ You got it ~ Google!

Was there nobody else out there that was willing to take on this project? Is it all about the money? I can safely assume that there are at least a few companies out there with the hosting abilities to host the pictures for the blogger community! There are many hosting options out there and there are many, many servers running right now out there in the world. Google was not the only way to go here.

If any of you have been reading this blog or have had a chance to glance at the sidebar I am also a PTR Junkie! I love doing paid to read emails. They are easy money!

Lately I have been noticing an increasing rise of PTR companies that do their advertising packages through Google. You click on the link, a script starts running and you glance down in the little bar at the bottom of your screen and see http://google something or other. Your page takes 10x longer to load and all for the sake of a little bit of extra money. Frustrating.....to say the least.

What I want to know is if that money is going to Google or to the actual owners of the site? Do WE the people that are doing all the clicking get to see all those revenue dollars that WE are bringing in for these companies? Most times the answer will be a simple NO.

Does Google share all of their profits with their loyal fans and users? Maybe they do/should. Maybe there should be another company out there that promotes that exact same idea and shares all of those revenue dollars and gives all of us internet gurus/junkies something in return for all of our time spent on the internet.

Wouldn't that be nice?
We can always dream can't we?!? ;-)

Something to talk about

Here is something for all of you moms and dads out there to chew on and maybe get a little laugh out of.

I am a stay at home mom of three children. Don't get me wrong, I love all three of them very dearly. I would not give them up for the world, or trade them for anything or any amount of money. But to be honest they drive me insane on most any given day of the week and weekend!

I have gotten to the point with my children where I dont' like to spank them anymore, because I feel like once I start it just seems like it is a never ending story. Now don't go thinking that I beat my children or anything like that, because I don't. Not by a long shot.

I do believe in spankings, yes. I grew up with spankings, even though I can count on one hand how many I received in my childhood. And let me tell you I richly deserved everyone of those spankings that I did get!!! (Thanks mom) They were very memorable!

My children have learned that I don't like to spank them, I don't like to have to get them in trouble. I would much rather that they listen to me the first time when they are told something. But, this also works to my disadvantage too. They have now come up with a plan to try and talk themselves around me.

This is where the driving me insane part comes in. Have you ever tried to talk sense with a 7,5, and 4 year old child? Has it ever worked for you? Have you ever tried to explain to a 4 year old that you cannot put a whole roll of toilet paper in the toilet because it will overflow and then mommy will have to then pull out all of the sopping wet toilet paper, plunge the toilet, and then adding insult to injury have to clean up all of the water that has spilled out of the toilet?!? Have you?!? It really does not work. I have tried it.

I have also tried explaining, very rationally mind you, to my 7 year old, that you cannot hit your brother for calling you names and then not expect to have to sit in time out, or get a spanking if it was really bad. Just because you get called a name does not justify hitting. His response to me was and I quote, "When we get in trouble you spank us, so I was just getting him in trouble and saving you the trouble mom." end quote. How cute.

My 7 year old is now trying to save me the trouble of punishing his younger siblings for minor offenses. How to explain that it is not his responsibility? I have tried to explain that one to him about a thousand times and I swear it really goes in one ear and out the other and is not retained in the little gray matter in between.

My 5 year old thinks it is ok to yell names at his brother and sister when he doesn't get his own way, and to threaten time outs if they don't give him what he wants. Starting to sound familiar? I am starting to feel like a broken record in my own home. Dinner time is another story. I would swear the child likes ice cold food! Yuck! No amount of coaxing, yelling, threating, bribing, you name it will get this child to eat faster than the pace of a sloth!

I have read numerous books, articles, you name it to try and get ideas and suggestions on how to deal with my children and everyone of them says to talk with them. Reason with them. Well, I have tried that, and the end result has been for them to turn around and use my own reasoning on me!

I guess I can say one thing for my children. They are smart! And cute!

Hillary Clinton as our First Woman President?

Should we really elect Hillary Clinton as our first woman President? I have my very serious doubts as to whether this would really be a good idea or not. I have never really liked Hillary as a political figurehead or so to speak as a 'woman' either. Don't ask me what I really mean by that, I guess I go so far as to say that I get a weird 'vibe' from her.

My very personal {opinion} on this very important matter would have to be a great resounding NO!

I do not feel that a personal that has very close ties to Watergate; The Monica Lewinsky scandals, admittedly through her husband,; voting yes on whether or not we should go to Iraq in the first place, and various other sub-par behavior if I were to dig enough, or rattle around in my brain enough to want to find out, should be the first woman to be elected to the Presidency in our history.

I personally feel that any woman that does not have the {balls} so to speak to stand up to her husband about his infidelity most definitely could not run our country any way that it needs to be run.

Not that I necessarily agree with how it has been run for some time now.

Maybe I AM wrong?!

Just wanted to pop my head in and say hello to all the cyber people out there today. I am having one of those days where my husband thinks I can do no right, and my kids are getting on my very last nerve.

Know what I mean? Frustrating and not to say the least infuriating!!!

I am trying to get all this internet stuff going and all he can complain about is that I am on the computer too much. Well..... need I say again, it is internet stuff! ugghh

I don't know what to tell him when he asks what I am doing, because he doesn't understand what I am talking about when I say that I am blogging and typing articles for associated content online and getting paid for it.

All he sees is that I am only bringing in just a little bit at a time and that I am not getting very far.

What I see is that I am slowly building up my experience and online content so that hopefully in the (near) future I will be able to get myself into a good paying full time online job that will pay me just as much if not more than a job that I have to get up and go out into the world and interact with all the other sociopaths that might be out there!

Well, maybe not sociopaths, but there are a lot of weird people out there that I just don't want to deal with all of these people on a daily basis, if I don't have to.

I want to be my own boss, answerable to myself and no one else. Is that so wrong? I don't really think so.

Maybe I am wrong.

Is Clickbank really worth it?

Is clickbank really worth all the effort and sweat and tears that I put out there with all the endless submission the search engines and countless submission confirmations in my email box, that I, yes, quite frankly am dealing with!

I honestly don't know!

After a couple of months, I still have not generated even one sale! Not even one stinking sale!
I have to say that I am somewhat disappointed, but not really surprised. This is one of those ventures that I got into with my feet first and not my head.

Went at it with everything I had for two weeks straight. On the computer night and day, submitting to search engines, getting link backs, and all that other great crap, just like the so called "guru's" of marketing told me to so I could make a million dollars overnight and guess what I didn't make a penny!

Well to be fair it didn't cost me anything but time I was already wasting anyway. Well I might have found another site that was better in the mean time, but I believe in Kharma, so probably not. I had to try it out and fail at that one before I really found one that paid.

maybe we should all look at it that way! ;-)

tax exemptions/credits does anybody know the difference?

I find myself in the impossible situation of fighting with my ex over who should be able to claim the kids for tax purposes! I say that I should be able to as he only has them 4 days out of the month and only pays child support when he feels like it!

He says that he should be able to claim exemptions and I should be able to claim credits.

Does anybody out there know the difference and what I should do?

I don't want to sign my life away!

Changing Blog Format

I have decided after much debating that starting today I am going to make my blog more of a personal blog, with my personal reviews, takes, believes, opinions or whatever you would like to call such ramblings on anything and everything that comes to my fabulous (lol) little brain.

Trying to keep this a business blog and also keeping my forum going just isn't working. I find myself needing a place to vent personal opinions after writing all of those business ideas. So this is now going to be personal.

All are still invited to share with me, but if you want business ideas, please refer to my forum which is http://jenbriese.myfreeforum.com

Have a great day!

Christmas Anyone?

I just want to clarify for future reference that I am better now and this was done at a very depressed time in my life.Am I the only one that feel that little old green grinch creeping up on myself this year? I just don't feel that I am getting in the holiday spirit like I usually do with trimming the tree and setting out all of my millions of holiday decorations and stockings and trimmings and endless little do-dads for all to see, I am instead sitting on my computer trying to come up with some way that I can actually have a little money in my pockets so that I can actually go out and buy that Christmas tree and buy those presents.

I have not bought a single present for my three children or for my husband. Nor because I don't want to, but for the simple fact that I do not have one red cent in my pocket to do so. That is so depressing a thought that I just want to cry. But I have the sneaking suspicion that if I start I will not stop until I have started another Mississippi River right here in my own back yard.

Isn't Christmas supposed to be a happy time? Usually I love the holidays! I usually don't let my poverty level affect me, but I usually have been able to buy something for the kids by this time also, so I think that is the biggest reason for all the doldrums this year also. I only have 15 days to figure out something and I really don't know what to do.

I am doing surveys until my hands feel like they are going to fall off and my eyes are crossing. I have signed up for clickbank and been flooding all the search engines with links, (But only with products that I would buy myself, if I had the money), but there are only so many hours in the day and I still will not cut into too much time with my kids or my husband.

Any ideas where I can go to get some money on the internet that I have not already gone? I have already tried selling stuff on ebay, but my account is currently suspended, because I could not pay my fees, so until I get some money to pay those, I cannot go back to selling on there. I will return to it though as so as I can do that.

As they say I am stuck between a rock and a hard spot!

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Endless Submissions

Swirls of websites and forms, words are becoming blurs, and I am not even sure if I am typing the right things anymore!!!!

Maybe everyone was right when they told me that I was nuts to try and take on this venture of blogging and doing surveys and reading emails and trying to give advice to some other poor creature like myself!

I have spent most of my day as you most likely can guess if you are a pro at this submitting my blogs url to websites for permission to list it among some of the most amazing blogs that I have ever read! ( Yes, I do tend to get a bit distracted) I feel a little discouraged that my own writing will ever rival theirs, but alas that is what an apprentice is all about, right????

I did run across a really good site that saved me some good time and actually had some "reputable search engines" that it would submit my site to for free and with relatively little hassle. Just a sign up little form and verification of an valid email address.

www.freewebsubmission.com

They are totally free and it just takes the time to get the email back to confirm your address to be able to submit with them.

I do however recommend only doing a few sites at a time as I did have a problem with the first and 4th sites not accepting sites at the time I was submitting and it will shut down the whole process. Just saves frustration that way. Otherwise all was good and very easy to navigate and find.

They also have some great articles to include on your own blog/website if so interested, and some good tips also.

Check it out if you are into this sort of thing.

Have a great warm cozy night!
Jenny

Guppy in a fishbowl

Maybe it is just all the lovely fluffly white stuff that is surrounding my little home of comfy warmth today, but I am slowly getting the disquieting feeling that my life is not much dissimilar than that of a guppy in a fishbowl.

Part of this may come from pretty much being born(well not really, but I might as well have been) bred, and raised in a really small town and we all know how a little town just loves to gossip. You cannot so much as break wind in your warm cozy little love nest in rural North Dakota and the neighbors way out on the other side of the country will know about it and will most likely know what the aroma was too....

Pardon my being so frank on such a humm.... delicate matter, but I do get so sick of little town gossips and their little minds that no not so much of what they speak, but only the havoc that they will wreak in the end. Which is what it is all about to begin with I do suppose.

I must tell the truth and say that my rantings of late are because I am sick of simple minded little people with no for thought into the future just simple cannot believe that you can sit at home on a computer and actually make money while you are doing it.

Granted I have fallen miserably on my face a couple of times doing these online ventures, which was the single whole purpose of starting this online blog, but I would really like to think that we as humans can learn from their mistakes, especially myself.

That is why I would like to encourage anyone that has had any good or bad experiences with internet business or work at home businesses to post on here. Or if you have any other topics that you would like to talk about and you don't want to maintain your own blog feel free to contribute, as long as it is clean.

Well, now that I am feeling a little bit cleaner in mind and spirit I will get back to my search for a good clean experience on the internet that I can share with you.

Have a great day and remember we all have the power to help each other to a better financial future if we want to!!!
