Use Big Words! - Joke

I will just briefly apologize for the profanity at the end, but I just couldn't resist sharing this little story/joke with all of you! I have had experience with the language thing with my own children in school already, so this one really struck a chord with me. I have been giggling for the last couple of minutes since I received this little email. thanks cris!

Here goes:

The new first-graders were trying very hard to adjust. The biggest hurdle
they faced was that the teacher insisted on "NO baby talk!"

"You need to use 'Big People' words," she was always reminding them.

She asked Chris what he had done over the weekend? "I went to visit my
Nana."

"No, you went to visit your GRANDMOTHER. Use 'Big People' words!"

She then asked Mitchell what he had done "I took a ride on a choo-choo."

She said, "No, you took a ride on a TRAIN. You must remember to use 'Big
People' words."

She then asked little Alec what he had done? "I read a book," he replied.

"That's WONDERFUL!" the teacher said. "What book did you read?"

[I love this]

Alec thought real hard about it, then puffed out his little chest with great
pride, and said, "Winnie the SHIT."

Something to talk about

Here is something for all of you moms and dads out there to chew on and maybe get a little laugh out of.

I am a stay at home mom of three children. Don't get me wrong, I love all three of them very dearly. I would not give them up for the world, or trade them for anything or any amount of money. But to be honest they drive me insane on most any given day of the week and weekend!

I have gotten to the point with my children where I dont' like to spank them anymore, because I feel like once I start it just seems like it is a never ending story. Now don't go thinking that I beat my children or anything like that, because I don't. Not by a long shot.

I do believe in spankings, yes. I grew up with spankings, even though I can count on one hand how many I received in my childhood. And let me tell you I richly deserved everyone of those spankings that I did get!!! (Thanks mom) They were very memorable!

My children have learned that I don't like to spank them, I don't like to have to get them in trouble. I would much rather that they listen to me the first time when they are told something. But, this also works to my disadvantage too. They have now come up with a plan to try and talk themselves around me.

This is where the driving me insane part comes in. Have you ever tried to talk sense with a 7,5, and 4 year old child? Has it ever worked for you? Have you ever tried to explain to a 4 year old that you cannot put a whole roll of toilet paper in the toilet because it will overflow and then mommy will have to then pull out all of the sopping wet toilet paper, plunge the toilet, and then adding insult to injury have to clean up all of the water that has spilled out of the toilet?!? Have you?!? It really does not work. I have tried it.

I have also tried explaining, very rationally mind you, to my 7 year old, that you cannot hit your brother for calling you names and then not expect to have to sit in time out, or get a spanking if it was really bad. Just because you get called a name does not justify hitting. His response to me was and I quote, "When we get in trouble you spank us, so I was just getting him in trouble and saving you the trouble mom." end quote. How cute.

My 7 year old is now trying to save me the trouble of punishing his younger siblings for minor offenses. How to explain that it is not his responsibility? I have tried to explain that one to him about a thousand times and I swear it really goes in one ear and out the other and is not retained in the little gray matter in between.

My 5 year old thinks it is ok to yell names at his brother and sister when he doesn't get his own way, and to threaten time outs if they don't give him what he wants. Starting to sound familiar? I am starting to feel like a broken record in my own home. Dinner time is another story. I would swear the child likes ice cold food! Yuck! No amount of coaxing, yelling, threating, bribing, you name it will get this child to eat faster than the pace of a sloth!

I have read numerous books, articles, you name it to try and get ideas and suggestions on how to deal with my children and everyone of them says to talk with them. Reason with them. Well, I have tried that, and the end result has been for them to turn around and use my own reasoning on me!

I guess I can say one thing for my children. They are smart! And cute!

Random Quote

Even a little dog can piss on a big building.

I thought this was rather funny. I might find some other use for it somewhere else down the line, but wanted to share it with all of you today.

Blogexplosion

I have signed up for this program called blogexplosion.com. They send people to your blog in exchange for you visiting other people's blogs. Seems pretty fair. So far I have run across some pretty strange people, and some pretty normal people.

And yes, to be brutually honest, some very boring people that I am wondering why they even blog.

I guess there are probably some people out there that probably wonder the same thing about me too, though.

I guess to each his own. I have bookmarked a couple of the more memorable sites and will add their links on the sidebar in the next day or two, or maybe later today if I can get the site to work right for me.

You should all check this out though if you are interested in seeing all of the different blogs that are out there and getting traffic to your own blogs. It is totally free and easy to do. By the time the counter runs down you can usually read the first page of the blog and see if you would be interested in ever coming back to that blog ever again.

I am also trying to be a "responsible blogger" and leaving comments on some of the sites that I have visited today so that these people know that, yes, there is someone out there actually reading their thoughts. ;-)

Have a good one.

My article on how Bipolar and ADHD have affected my life

This article is a rather personal one that I felt needed to be wrote. Most people do not understand what people go through that have Bipolar. When you add ADHD on top of that you have a whole new bag of worms that you have to deal with.

I would really appreciate the little community of bloggers that I have built that come and view my blog to leave me some feedback either here on my blog or on Associated content on this article. It would mean a great deal to me.

Please just remember that this is a personal accounting of my experiences with the disorder and not what happens to everyone or what will happen to everyone that is diagnosed, but it can give you some insight into what some of us go through on an everyday basis as we are "dealing" with our worlds, so to speak.

Thanks in advance for the comments. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Blog is down on word press + story on Al Queada confession!

Wordpress blog is suspended for some reason. Still trying to figure that one out. So for now, I will be blogging on here again. Once I get everything straightened out hopefully I can find a permanent place for my blog. Starting to feel like a transient here!

Anyways just wanted to let everyone know that I am still around and blogging!

Have a great day and check out this interesting story I just found!
